- Tenderness
A strain occurs when muscle fibres stretch or tear. This usually occurs when a muscle has been stretched beyond its limits or it has been forced to contract too quickly. Symptoms include:
- Pain in the effected muscles
- Swelling
- Bruising
- Muscle spasm
- Loss of some or all of the function of the effected muscle
