Frozen Shoulder:-
Frozen Shoulder is when the capsule of the shoulder joint (glenohumeral joint )folds over and becomes stuck / fused together preventing the joint from parting and so stopping any movement in the joint. This prevents you lifting your arms up to reach for something from the cupboard, dry your hair, cut the garden hedge and also prevents you rotating your shoulder inwards, making it difficult to do things like pull your trousers up or fasten your bra strap. The fluid inside the capsule thickens and becomes sticky and has the appearance of glue and acts like that.
Osteopathic intervention can aid recovery and reduce the risk of reoccurrence, whilst maintaining range of movement. If the problem does not respond significantly within 4-6 months we have good referral relations with the local orthopaedic surgeons.
